The final installment of the 1685 cycle takes Scarlatti’s well-known Sonata in B minor (K. 27) as the basis for a long-form improvisatory recomposition, expanding its baroque delicacy into drones, semi-permeable membranes, and as evocations of ragas, lines, grids, and waves. Instrumentation is for solo piano with electronics (modular synthesizer live processing), and visuals (Max/MSP/Jitter) that are influenced by live audio capture.
